"Best Poster Award" for the second year in a row

 picture of prize, General Leia doll, and the certificate for the Best Poster AwardJuliana Herran has won a “Best Poster Award” for the second year in a row at the Women in Physical Science (WoPhyS) Conference held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). Juliana has been pursuing computational research on the properties of various Heusler compounds with Physics faculty member Dr. Pavel Lukashev since summer 2016, when she participated in the ten-week MRSEC – UNL REU undergraduate research program. The WoPhyS Conference, which is an annual meeting for undergraduate women, was held November 9-12, 2017 at UNL. Two new freshman physics majors, Rachel Dillavou and Juliana Huegerich, attended the conference with Juliana this year.
